Tails of Nautica

My favorite sea-folk. Too bad I missed mer-MAY-d month

I've been working on these for the longest! Well... on and off I finally finished the full detailed versions of their aquatic forms! Here's Princess Lynne Marina Aerwyna and her slightly older brother Prince Liam Caspian Aerwyna of Lotus, the Western Sea of Nautica (man that's a mouthful). Ignore the boring background, this picture was just to show off the designs XD so no distractions needed.

The tail concept recieved a bit of an upgrade since Tell me more. In the past, I've really tried to emphasize the whole "part-fish" thing. Simply having a tail didn't do it for me. I wanted them to be legit, so gills, multiple fins, webbed ears/hands etc. the whole enchalada.. It was odd at first to draw all of these features on them without having them look creepy like sea-monsters because I still wanted them enchanting and beautiful.
